I have been interested in physically challenging activities from a young age, but nothing ever kept my attention for long. At a time in my life when I was experiencing a lot of change, I found a Japanese martial art called Aikido. The word Aikido translates to ‘a path of harmony with all things’. After 12 years of training, reaching 2nd degree black belt, I stumbled upon Yoga asana. My life led me to a yoga retreat and I came away with a sense of knowing yoga was the path I’ve always been searching for. Since then there has rarely come a day I haven’t stepped on my mat.
Yoga is helping me know myself, my strengths, weaknesses and habits. Yoga is transforming the way I move both on and off my mat. Yoga is helping me find a deeper sense of compassion, for myself and others. For me, yoga is the path and the destination.
As a qualified myotherapist, I feel I have a deep understanding of how the body moves. I encourage people to move in a way that makes them feel good, not only physically, but mentally and emotionally.
